Tomatillo Salsa/Green Salsa/Salsa Verde

Substitute your pico de gallo, salsa or guacamole with this tomatillo salsa at your next party. Easy and delicious!
4 tomatillos
2 cloves garlic
1 white onion
1 jalapeo (or serrano for a little extra kick)
handful of cilantro
generous squeeze of lime juice
1 tablespoon toasted cumin seeds, crushed
1 avocado, diced
2 oz. water
salt to taste

husk and rinse the tomatillos then pat dry. Cut in half an sear tomatillos, garlic and jalapeo in a pan. Brown all sides. You can also do this in the oven, but I like an iron skillet. In the meantime dice up your onion and put aside. Once skillet ingredients are cooked, add water and gently pulse. add to bowl and add diced onion. Add cilantro and avocado. toast the cumin seeds, crush them up and add that to salsa as well. Give it a generous squeeze of lime and salt to taste and enjoy with your favorite chips!

be inspired, get creative and include the kids.
