Onion tomato Chutney | Gayathiri's Cookbook

This simple and super easy onion tomato Chutney is the perfect accompaniment to idly and dosa.

Ingredients:
Onion- 2
Tomatoes- 4
Red chillies- 4
Salt- As needed
Oil- 2 tsp
Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
Uraddal- 1 tsp
Curry leaves- 1 sprig

Directions:
1.Fry red chillies in a tsp of oil for 3-4 minutes.Then add onion and cook until translucent.
2.Add tomatoes and cook until soft.
3. Add a tsp of salt and then switch off the heat.
4. Let the mixture cool down a bit and then grind these into a fine paste without adding water.
5. Heat 1 tsp oil. Add mustard seeds. When it starts to crackle, add uraddal,curry leaves and 1 red chilly.saute until dal turns golden brown.
6. Then add the ground paste and saute for couple of minutes. Switch off the heat.
