Japanese Side Dish | Spinach Ohitashi (dashi based broth)

This Japanese side dish is one of my favorite ways to eat spinach. Ohitashi calls for dashi broth, soy sauce, +/- mirin and other ingredients, depending on the recipe.

Aside from the ohitashi, other ways I prepare spinach is by just sauteing with some garlic, olive oil, and soy sauce or making a goma-ae out of it.

Ohitashi is one of the most simple and pure ways to eat spinach and any other number of vegetables as well! This side dish is very light and can be served warm or cold. It’s a great way to add more greens to your diet!
