Hashbrowns | Gayathiri's Cookbook

Hashbrowns, a classic side dish recipe, goes well with breakfast or brunch dishes..
These are crunchy outside and perfectly cooked inside.Its easy to make them fresh at home rather than opting for frozen ones from supermarket.

Ingredients:
Russell potatoes- 3
Sugar or corn syrup-1 teaspoon
Rice flour-1/3 cup
Cornflour-1 tablespoon
Onion powder- 1 teaspoon
Garlic powder- 1 teaspoon
Black pepper powder- 1 teaspoon
Salt- As needed
Oil- for frying
Servings: 13

Directions:
1. Wash potatoes and peel the skin.
2. Grate and soak it in ice cold water for 15 minutes to remove the starch.
3. Heat water with a teaspoon of corn syrup or sugar.
4. Cook potatoes for 3 minutes. Strain the water immediately.switch off the flame.
5. Pour cold water to stop the process of cooking. Squeeze the extra water out using cheese/muslin cloth.
6. Take the potatoes in a big bowl.Add rice flour, corn flour, onion powder, garlic powder, salt and black pepper powder.
7. Mix everything well. Make shapes out of the potato mixture.
8. Freeze it for 15 minutes.
9. Fry it in oil until golden brown.Crispy hash browns are ready!!!
