Easy Pearl Onion Chutney/ Chinna vengaya chutney | Gayathiri's Cookbook

This is a South Indian spicy chutney made with small(pearl) onions, red chillies and tamarind.

Ingredients:
Pearl onions- 20-25
Uraddal- 2 tsp
Red chillies- 5
Tamarind- A small piece
Salt- As needed
Oil- 2 tsp
Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp

Directions:
1. Roast 2 tsp uraddal and 5 red chillies in 1 tsp oil. When the dals turn golden brown, switch off the heat. Keep it aside.
2.Saute onion with little salt until tender.
3. Add a small piece of tamarind and saute for 2 minutes.
4.Switch off the heat.Grind everything without water.
5. Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds. When it starts to crackle, add the ground paste and saute for a minute.Switch off the heat.
Pearl onion chutney is ready!!
