Creamy, Dreamy HOMEMADE CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM

In this Valentines Day episode, we make CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM!

3/4 cup milk
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
4 oz. 70% chocolate (we use Valrhona) chopped
5 egg yolks
5/8 cup superfine sugar

add the milk and cream to a pot and bring to a boil, then simmer.
Add the chocolate and stir in to melt.
In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks and sugar until smooth.
Add a ladle of hot chocolate mixture to the sugar/egg mixture and quickly whisk. Now add the sugar/egg mixture to the pot of hot melted chocolate on the stove. Let this cook for about 8-10 minutes. Once it all looks nice and creamy, pour mixture through a fine sieve. Let this cool before adding it to your ice cream machine. Churn for about 25-30 minutes. Add to a container and freeze for about 3 hours. Enjoy and please eat this within a couple of days, because it won't be the same if it sits around too long. I'm sure you can handle that!

be inspired, get creative and include the kids!
