Chilli Paneer- An Indo-Chinese Starter | Gayathiri's Cookbook

Chilli Paneer:

Chilli paneer is an Indo -Chinese lip- smacking dish where the paneer(Indian cottage cheese) is batter fried and tossed in a spicy/tangy sauce.This restaurant style chilli paneer is perfect as a starter or an appetizer . You can prepare this easily at home without much effort.



Ingredients:
All purpose flour/Maida- 2 tablespoons
Cornflour- 2 tablespoons
Salt-1/2 teaspoon
Red chilly powder-3/4 teaspoon
Paneer- 25-30 cubes
Oil- for frying
Spring onion-2
Garlic cloves-2
Onion-1/2
Green and red bell pepper- 1 small each
Vinegar- 1 teaspoon
Red chilli paste- 1 teaspoon
Soy sauce- 1 teaspoon
Tomato ketchup-1 teaspoon
Corn flour- 1 teaspoon

Descriptions:
1. Take all purpose flour, cornflour, salt and red chilli powder in a bowl. Mix well.
2. Add water little at a time to make batter slightly thick.(Bajji batter consistency).
3. Add paneer and make sure all the paneers are well coated with batter.
4. Heat oil over medium flame.
5. Shallow fry or deep fry or Air fry paneer until golden brown.Set aside.
6. Heat 2 teaspoon oil in a wide pan. Add spring onion and garlic. Sauté for 20 seconds.
7. Add onion and sauté until translucent. Add red and green bell pepper and sauté until tender crisp.
8. Add vinegar, red chilli paste, soy sauce and tomato ketchup. Mix well.
9. Mix 1 teaspoon cornflour in 2 tablespoons water and mix it.
10. Cook until thick.
11. Add fried paneer and toss it with the sauce.
12. Garnish with spring onions.

Chilli paneer is ready!!!
