Capsicum Curry/Kudamilagai Curry/bell pepper dry curry | Gayathiri's Cookbook

This capsicum dry curry is a South Indian style masala curry which is usually served with rice or roti. It is prepared with green bell pepper along with coconut and some spices. I like to add Paruppu podi to this curry as it gives good aroma.

Ingredients:
Capsicum- 3
Oil- 2 tsp
Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
Uraddal- 1.5 tsp
Channadal-1.5 tsp
Red chillies- 1
Curry leaves-For seasoning
Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
Salt- As needed
Red chilli powder- 1 tsp
Dalpowder/Paruppu podi- 2 tsp
Coconut-1/2 cup.

Directions:

1. Cut Capsicum into small pieces.Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan. Add 1/2 tsp mustard seeds. When it splutters, add 1.5 tsp uraddal, 1.5 tsp channadal, 2 red chillies. Fry until the dals turn golden brown.

2. Then add curry leaves and capsicum. Saute the vegetable with 1/2 tsp turmeric powder and salt. Cook until it is soft.

3. Add 1 tsp red chilli powder, 2 Tsp Dalpowder/Paruppu podi and 2 tbsp shredded coconut(Optional). Mix it well.
Switch off the heat.

Capsicum Curry is ready!!!

Serve it with rice or roti.
