Bisibelabath is a popular Karnataka recipe which literally means " Hot lentil rice". It is very healthy and superheat to make. It tastes great with onion or cucumber raita.Ingredients:Rice- 1 cupToordal- 1/2 cupCarrots- 2Peas- 1/2 cupGreen bell pepper- 1red radish- 5potatoes- 2Uraddal- 1 tspChannadal- 1 tspCoriander seeds- 1.5 tspFenugreek seeds-3/4 tspRed chillies- 5Shredded coconut-3/4 cupcurry leaves- 2 sprigsOil/ghee- 2 tbspMustard seeds- 1/2 tspOnion-1Madras curry powder- 1 tspDirections:1. Take 1 cup rice and 1/2 cup toordal in a vessel. Take all the the vegetables in another vessel.Pressure cook them for upto 4 whistles.2.Roast channadal, uraddal, red chillies, coriander seeds and fenugreek seeds in little oil till they turn golden brown.keep it aside.Roast coconut and curry leaves for 30-60 seconds. Then grind everything together into a fine powder.3.Drain the cooked vegetables and save the water. do not discard it.4.Mash the cooked rice. keep it aside.5.Heat 2 tbsp oil or ghee. Add mustard seeds. When it starts to crackle, add onion and saute until translucent.then add the cooked vegetables.Mash them well.6.Add the ground powder and madras curry powder.mix it with the vegetables.7.Add the drained water to the vegetables. Let it cook for 3-4 minutes.8.Add turmeric powder, salt, hing, and then the mashed rice.Mix them well.
