Tteokguk Two Ways, Part 1: Beef Tteokguk

New Year's (both the lunar and Gregorian one) is coming, and in today's video, we will make one of my favorite tteokguk recipes. It is a Korean tradition to eat rice cake soup on New Year's, as we believe it helps us to age another year.

Today's tteokguk recipe is made with delicious beef brisket! It is delicious, belly-warming, and hearty... The perfect way to usher in a new year, full of love, happiness, and good fortune.

If you're more of a fan of the anchovy broth version, part 2 is for you, and the video can be found here: https://youtu.be/0i9QQ4A4PgI

Side note: If you can only find a whole brisket at the store, here is a link that shows how to trim the flat from it. https://lilgrill.com/brisket-flat-vs-point/
