Time has stood still in this coffeeshop known for Kopi Gu You Heap Seng Leong ()

Known for its old-school setting and decor that transports you back to the 1970s, the coffeeshop offers charcoaled toasts, steamed bread, and hot beverages. It is one of the very few places that still serves the Kopi Gu You (Butter coffee in Hokkien). A slab of butter gives the coffee a silky, smooth taste texture.

Mr Shi has continued the tradition passed down to him by his father, who used to be an iconic figure in the shop, decked in a white singlet and blue-strip pyjamas pants.

Beside the coffee stall is a Malay food stall selling curry puff with potato or sardine filling. Going at just a dollar for potato and $1.20 for sardine, the curry puffs are handmade with love.

If you crave for a taste of nostalgia, visit this coffeeshop for a hearty breakfast!
