Friendly Mr Tan and Ms Ding, both in their late 60s, are the second generation of Hwee Kee that first started at Boat Quay in 1958. For the last 63 years, the owners have won the hearts of loyal regulars with its choices of braised pork trotters, meats, intestines, etc.

Their specialty is the traditional pig trotter jelly, which is seldom served in hawker stalls nowadays. Pork skin and meats are stewed for hours till the collagen forms a thick liquid before being chilled into jelly. Bits of meat and pork skin add texture to the jelly which simply melts in your mouth!
