75 China Street Peanuts Soup is a humble stall operated by third generation Uncle Peh, selling Red Bean Brown Rice Soup and Tau Suan, as well as Peanuts Soup. He has been operating the stall for over 30 years.

At a first glance of their signboard, we see the title, 75 Peanuts Soup 57. Behind this mysterious name actually lies an interesting history.

Before moving to Maxwell Food Centre, the stall used to operate at China Street as a street hawker. After moving to Maxwell Food Centre, the stall established its place at stall no. 75. After a renovation of the food centre, the stall shifted to stall no. 57. However, the stall retained its original title, 75 China Street Peanuts Soup.

Their peanut soup used to be a delicacy that served the well-to-do at Club Street (near China Street), after their mahjong session.

A bowl of hot dessert at $1 is sure to satisfy. Having cooked the peanuts for 4 hours, the essence fills an entire pot of peanut soup, dyeing it with a milky colour. The red bean soup is also a must-try, cooked with brown rice and sago.

Do drop by for breakfast or something sweet after lunch!
