In Greece and especially in the islands, seafood with pasta is one of the most loved combinations, especially during periods of fasting. The recipe was derived in the older times, when the islands inhabitants were quite poor and were therefore trying to feed their whole family with what they had caught in the sea!
The Calamari (like octopus) goes very well with Kofto macaroni or any Pasta with a big hole in the middle. The delicious juices of the tomato sauce permeate the pasta, turning it into a thicker sauce.
Lets find out together how to prepare this healthy and inexpensive dish.
Suitable for fasting.

INGREDIENTS:
500 gr / 1 lb 2 oz Squid i.e. Calamari, Fresh or Frozen (Size: small-medium)
300 gr / 10.5 oz Kofto Pasta (or any other pasta with big hole)
400 gr / 14 oz Thick Tomato sauce, canned (passata)
cup / 60 ml Olive Oil
1/3 glass / 80 ml Red Wine
3 Bay leaves
2 medium Onions, finely chopped
tsp. Garlic powder
tsp. Paprika Powder
1 bunch fresh Dill, finely chopped
Grated Kefalotyri or Parmesan Cheese
Ground Salt and Pepper
