Rava kara adai/Sooji Adai | Gayathiri's Cookbook

Rava kara adai is a very simple recipe and very easy to make.Unlike dosa and appam the batter does not need fermentation.
Sambhar and coconut or peanut chutney is the best side dish for the kara adai.

Ingredients:
Sooji/Rava- 3 cups
Gram flour- 1.25 cups
Onion-1
Fennel seeds- 1.5 tsp
Red chillies- 5
Salt- As needed
Coriander seeds- As needed
Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
Hing- A pinch

Directions:
1. Soak 3 cups of sooji in 3 cups of water for 1 hour.Grind fennel seeds and red chillies with little water into a fine paste. Keep it aside.
2.Mix turmeric powder, Salt, hing, ground red chilli paste, coriander leaves and gram flour with the soaked rava in a bowl.
3.Add water to get the adai batter consistency.Keep it aside for 10 minutes.
4.Add onion before making the adai.
5.Apply oil on tawa. Then spread the batter and drizzle some oil around the edges.flip it and cook both sides.

Rava kara adai is ready!!.
