Peerkangai thogayal/Beerakaya chutney/Beerakaya pachadi | Gayathiri's Cookbook

Peerkangai/Beerakaya is one of my favorite vegetable.This thogayal is absolutely delicious . It is usually served with hot steamed rice but is also an excellent accompaniment for dosas and idlies.

Ingredients:
Peerkangai- 3
Tamarind- A small piece
Coconut- 1/4 cup
Hing- A pinch
Salt- As needed
Uraddal- 2 tbsp
Green chillies- 4
Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp

Directions:
1. Peel the peerkangai skin and cut into small pieces.
2. Roast 2 tbsp uraddal and 4 green chillies in little oil.when the dal turn golden brown add tamarind saute for 30 seconds then switch off the heat.
3. Saute peerkangai with turmeric powder and salt. Saute until the vegetables are cooked.
4.Grind everything together into a fine paste.

Thogayal is ready!!
