Methi Paneer Recipe | Simple Vegetarian Khana With Chef Saurabh | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Paneer pieces cooked with fresh fenugreek leaves in onion tomato masala.

METHI PANEER

Ingredients

1 medium fresh fenugreek leaves (methi)
250 grams cottage cheese (paneer), cut into ½ inch pieces
1 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)
1 tablespoon ginger-garlic-green chilli paste
1 medium tomato, finely chopped
½ teaspoon Kashmiri red chilli powder
½ teaspoon cumin powder
Salt to taste
½ cup onion-tomato masala
½ teaspoon garam masala powder
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Ginger strips for garnishing

Method

1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds and when it changes colour, add ginger-garlic-green chilli paste and sauté for 1 minute.
2. Add fenugreek leaves, mix and cook for 4-5 minutes. Add tomato and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
3. Add chilli powder, cumin powder, salt and 2-3 tablespoons water, mix and cook for 1-2 minutes.
4. Add onion-tomato masala, mix and cook for 1-2 minutes. Add garam masala powder, cottage cheese pieces and lemon juice, mix and cook for 1 minute.
5. Serve hot garnished with ginger strips.
