Kamarkattu is a traditional tamilnadu candy.Kamarkattu, made of jaggery and coconut, is famous for being tough on the teeth. Often, dry ginger and cardamom is also added to it, to enhance the flavor and digestion

கமர்கட்டு
Ingredients:
Shredded coconut(துருவின தேங்காய் )- 1/4 cup
Jaggery(வெல்லம் )- 1 cup
Ghee(நெய்)- 2 tsp
Ginger powder(சுக்குத்தூள் )-1/4 tsp
Cardamom powder(ஏலக்காய்த்தூள்)-1/4 tsp
Water(தண்ணீர்)- 1/4 cup
Recipe:
1.Take jaggery and water in a pan. Boil until it becomes frothy.Add shredded coconut and keep stirring.
2.Add cardamom powder and ginger powder.
3. Stir continuously until you get a hard ball consistency.At this stage, the mixture becomes thick and it leaves the sides.Switch off the heat immediately.
4.Pour the mixture on a greased plate and mix well with a spatula.When the mixture is still warm, grease hands with ghee/oil and make round balls.
