Who says vegetarian food is boring? That's because you havent been to Veggie 121, a hidden gem that serves a wide variety of dishes. What's more, the food served is possibly the cheapest in town. A standard bee hoon set costs only $2.50, and it comes with 4 dishes - Petai, cabbage, mock Char Siew and Tau Kwa. Mr Yin, the business owner pleasantly spoils his customers with the different special dishes offered daily. Kway Chap, Lor Mee, Nasi Lemak, Wanton noodles and many more are all cooked in the pure vegan way - no egg, no dairy, no onion and garlic. Having worked with the navy, as a taxi driver and property manager, Mr Yin made a career switch and took up his passion in cooking. Just one month into the business, he faced the severe challenge of lockdown in Jun 2020. But every cloud has a silver lining. He persevered the winter that impacted the whole food service industry. We are fortunate to savour the good, affordable food that hawkers like Mr Yin have brought to the table.
