Serves 4 people as appetizer
Have you ever prepared a dish without following any recipe and it turned into an absolute failure? Well, this accidental 2-ingredient recipe started as a disaster and ended up as a super delicious appetizer.
Sfela is a semi-hard Peloponnesian cheese that should actually be fried for a perfect Saganaki. But I wanted to experiment, making it lighter in calories, by grilling it instead, like I would do with Halloumi cheese.
The result? It melted completely and became quite flat. When I took it out of the grill, I was ready to throw it away, but then I thought: Maybe I should try it first.
And what a surprise! A super-crunchy, chewy, very thin Saganaki cheese, with a topping of my amazing Fig jam, for a match made in heaven.
Do you trust me? Then believe me and try it.
Suitable for lacto-vegetarians.

INGREDIENTS:
100 gr /3.5 oz Sfela Cheese from Mani (altern: Kefalotyri, Kefalograviera, Manchego)
40 gr / 1.4 oz Fig Jam
A bit oil to grease the electric toaster
