Fried Modakams for Homam | Gayathiri's Cookbook

Fried Modakam for Homam:

Fried Modakam is an important neivedhyam or offering prepared for Ganapathy Homam. These are also prepared during Ganesh Chaturthi festival.
These fried modakams can be prepared(in Madi) the day before Homam and kept aside as it stays fresh for 2-3 days at room temperature.

(Madi is to be in pristine state possible. Even while it actually refers to the pristine state of mind or conscious, a pristine body is as important. The intention is to stay clean both in mind and body when performing a deed. When you get into madi, people tell you not to touch anything or anyone. It actually means to try and deviate your mind and body from the materialistic presence. By being pristine, one could achieve peace & calm, and concentrate on the deed performed, in a better way.)
