How To Make Red Zhug Hot Sauce Recipe Red Zhoug Yemenite Schug This hot sauce recipe is hot - but just as important it's a hot sauce that has nuanced flavour. Ingredients:
200g (7 ounces) hot red peppers
100g (3 ½ ounces) mild red peppers
5-6 cloves garlic
125 mL (½ cup) cilantro packed
5 mL (1 tsp) salt
5 mL (1 tsp) ground cumin
60 mL (4 Tbsp) olive oil
Juice from ½ lemon

Method:
Remove the stem from the peppers and and put them in a food processor, with the garlic, salt, lemon juice and cumin. 
Run the processor until a smooth consistency is reached.
Roughly chop the cilantro and add it to the food processor.
Run until you have paste that retains a bit of texture; with the processor still running drizzle in the olive oil.
Store in the refrigerator.
