Cracked wheat Dumplings/Godhumairava kozakattai | Gayathiri's Cookbook

Cracked wheat is packed with vitamins, minerals and fiber. Fiber-rich foods like cracked wheat may reduce chronic disease risk, promote weight loss and improve digestion and gut health.
This wheat dumpling is made with cracked wheat, channadal, red chillies and coconut.

Ingredients:
Wheat lava- 1.5 cups
Channadal- 1/2 cup
Red chillies- 3 or 4
Salt- As needed
Hing- A pinch
Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves- 1 or 2 stems.
Shredded coconut- 1/2 cup
Green chillies- 2
Oil- 2 tsp
Ghee- 2 tsp

Directions:
1.Soak 1/2 cup of channadal and 4 red chillies in water for 1 hour.Strain the water. Grind channadal with red chillies, hing,salt and a little water into a coarse consistency.
2.Roast wheat lava in ghee for 3-5 minutes.keep it aside.
3. Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds. When it starts to crackle, add green chillies and curry leaves.Saute for a minute.
4.Then add water, salt,hing and shredded coconut.Let it boil.
5. When the water is boiling, add the channadal, turmeric powder and the wheat rava.Let it boil until the gravy has become thick or until the gravy leaves the sides of the pan.Switch off the heat.
6.When it is still warm, make small dumplings out of that mixture.Let it steam for 14 minutes.
Serve it with chutney or sambar.
