Bombay Tawa Pulao/ Tava pulao | Gayathiri's Cookbook

Bombay Tawa Pulao is a popular Bombay/Mumbai street food which is super easy to make. You can prepare this with leftover rice. This rice has Bad bhaji flavor so kids will love this recipe.

Ingredients:
Basmati rice- 1 cup
Oil- 2 tsp
Jeera- 1 tsp
Onion- 1
Ginger garlic paste- 1 tsp
Tomatoes-2
Carrots- 2
Beans- 10-15
Peas - 1/4 cup
Capsicum- 1
Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
Salt- As needed
Red chilli powder- 1/2- 1 tsp
Pav bhaji masala powder- 1-2 tsp
Tomato ketchup- 1 tsp

Directions:
1.Soak basmati rice in water for at least 30 minutes. Boil 3 cups of water in a pan. Add 1/4 tsp salt.When the water is boiled, add the soaked rice and cook
2.When the rice is 3/4 th done, switch off the heat and strain the water.Keep it aside.
3. Heat 2 tsp oil in a tawa.Add 1 tsp jeera.Then add onion and ginger garlic and cook until the onion is translucent.
4. Add tomatoes and cook until soft.
5.Then add all the vegetables of your choice (I used carrots. peas and carrots), turmeric powder and salt and saute until the vegetables are cooked(should be crunchy, not mushy)
6.Add 1 tsp tomato sauce, 1 tsp red chilli powder and 2 tsp pan bhajji masala powder.
7.Cook till the raw small of the masala powders goes away.
8. Add cooked rice and mix gently. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes.
Garnish with coriander leaves.

Tawa pulao is ready!!
