Why The Dirty Dozen Produce List Is Nonsensical

The Environmental Working Group has been producing its Dirty Dozen produce list, part of its "Shopper's Guide to Pesticides in Produce", since 1995.

It claims the list will help buyers protect themselves from damaging pesticides by empowering them to avoid the most toxic fruits & vegetables.

This list has scared a lot of people into cutting back on their produce consumption because they think fruits and vegetables are contaminated, cause cancer, and other health problems.

In this video, we discuss the Dirty Dozen, how the list is created, and why it is heavily flawed, arbitrary, and not at all indicative of how toxic the pesticide residue on produce really is.
