Wheat Unniappam | Indian Mom's Kitchen

This sweet dish is enjoyed by one and all. Let me show you how you can make Uniappam at home.

Ingredients:
2 cups Wheat flour
1 cup Jaggery
1/2 cup Coconut pieces
1 cup Yellow Bananas
1 tsp Black Sesame seeds
1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
2 tsp Ghee
1/2 tsp Jeera
Oil for frying
A pinch of Salt

Method: Melt the Jaggery in 1 cup water. Strain and keep aside. Grind together the Jaggery syrup and Bananas to make a puree. Heat ghee and fry the Coconut pieces till brown.
Combine the Wheat flour, Coconut pieces, Banana puree, Jeera, Cardamom powder, Black Sesame and Salt & mix well to make a thick batter. Additional water may be added to make a smooth batter of pouring consistency.
Heat Oil in the Appam pan. Pour Oil in each groove. Pour spoonful of batter in each groove and fry till brown. Flip and fry all the Unniappams on the other side too. Once it's nice and brown, remove from pan and serve.
