What Japanese Dinner is Like? Part 3〜 Chicken〜(EP136) | Kitchen Princess Bamboo

Today, I’m going to show you what Japanese dinner is like part 3!

I choose chicken for the main course as some of you requested.



Today, I make chicken Karaage, “scallion Ponzu sauce.”

As I have mentioned before, Japanese cuisine is all about balance.

Balance of ingredients, seasonings and texture.

〈ingredients〉serves 4
・chicken Karaage
Two chicken thigh (500g)
Two cloves garlic
1 tsp grated ginger
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp mirin
1/2 cup potato starch

・scallion Ponzu sauce
3~4 tbsp juice of Kabosu citrus fruit ※any citrus you can access
3~4 soy sauce ※same amount of citrus juice
Chopped scallion

・Daikon side dish (Korean Namul inspired)
200g Daikon radish
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp sesame oil
dash of Shichimi chile pepper and garlic powder

・Broccoli and crab stick salad
1/2 head of broccoli
1/3 tsp salt
30g crab sticks
1 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tsp soy sauce

・vegetable miso soup
100~150 g pieces of leftover vegetables
2 cups dashi
2 tbsp miso of your choice
