Turkish Quick Bread Pogaca & Chocolate Cherry Cake

We are making scone-like savory and sweet two recipes that will complete your tea or coffee time. The quick savory, puffy pogaca is my favorite when I need something quick, it has no yeast and the cheese inside the dough doubles the taste and gives more volume.

The chocolate cake is also very easy to assemble. While the cake and pogaca cooks I will make the pudding and cherry toppings and it will be ready total in about 1.30 hours. Both are very simple and delicious.

Ingredients For Turkish Scone Quick Pogaca
About 90gr. butter at room temperature
5 tbsp 40gr. olive or vegetable oil
2 eggs (keep one yolk for egg wash)
2 tbsp (about 70gr. yogurt)
about 120 gr. white, ricotta, or similar cheeses (I used cabaalt, lor cheese)
1 tbsp vinegar
1/2 cup cornflour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
about 1+1/2 to 2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp each baking soda and baking powder
1 tsp salt
nigella seeds (optional)

Ingredients For Easy Chocolate Cake:
For the cake batter:
2 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup oil
1/3 cup milk
1 cup + 2 tbsp flour
2 heaped tbsp cocoa powder
1+1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
For the pudding:
5 tbsp sugar
1 heaped tbsp corn starch
2 tbsp flour
2 cups of milk
1 tbsp butter
vanilla
For The Cherry Sauce:
2/3 cup frozen or fresh pitted cherries
less than 1/2 cup sugar
2 tbsp corn starch
1 cup + 1/4 cup if needed water
chocolate shaves to garnish (optional)
