Amazing little tomato and basil sticks makes an easy vegetarian nibble that fits in at any buffet party.TOMATO BASIL STICKSIngredients1¼ cups refined flour (maida) + for dusting2 teaspoons tomato powder1 teaspoon dried basil leaves½ teaspoon castor sugar ½ teaspoon + a pinch salt 1 tablespoon butter2 teaspoons olive oil + for greasing¼ teaspoon garlic powderMayonnaise-chive dip for servingMethod1. Put 1¼ cups flour in a bowl. Add castor sugar and ½ teaspoon salt and mix. Add butter and mix well. Add sufficient water and knead into a soft dough. Add ½ teaspoon olive oil and knead again. Cover with damp muslin cloth and set aside for 10-15 minutes.2. Preheat oven to 180° C.3. Divide the dough into equal portions.4. Dust the worktop with some flour and roll out each portion into thin discs. 5. Grease a baking tray with some oil and place the discs.6. Mix together tomato powder, dried basil leaves, garlic powder, a pinch salt and remaining olive oil in a bowl. 7. Brush the tomato powder mixture on each disc, dork using a fork and cut into 2-3 inch long strips. 8. Put the tray into the preheated oven and bake for 5-7 minutes. Remove from oven and cool. 9.
