Learn how to make 'Til Gud Ladoo', a very popular festive delicacy by chef Kanak.

Til Gud Ladoo, also known as Tilkut, is a very popular festive delicacy. As Makar Sankranti is round the corner, chef Kanak brings you this delicious, crunchy sweet dish to add to the joy of this festival.

Ingredients:

1 cup sesame seeds
1/2 cup jaggery
2 tsp ghee / clarified butter
1/4 broken unsalted roasted peanuts

Method:

- In a pan, dry roast the sesame seeds on a medium high flame. Roast the sesame seeds until they are slightly golden brown in colour and become aromatic and crunchy. Once done, let it cool down and keep it aside.
- In a wok, heat some ghee / clarified butter.
- Once the ghee melts, add the jaggery to it and keep stirring until it melts.
- Simmer on a low flame until it caramelizes and forms a thick syrup.
- Then add the roasted sesame seeds to it along with the peanuts.
- Turn off the flame and mix the ingredients well until the peanuts and sesame seeds are nicely coated with the jaggery syrup.
- Let this mixture cool down slightly. Then, while it is still warm enough to handle, take around a tbsp of the mixture and using your palms, make small balls out of it.
- Let them cool down to room temperature and then you may store them in any air tight container.
- The delicious Til Gud Ladoo are ready to be served.
