Ingredients:
For Filling
- ½ cup Chana Dal, soaked in water for 2 hours
- 1 cup Jaggery, finely chopped
- Pinch of Salt
- Water as required
- 1 tbsp Ghee
- 2 pinches Cardamom Powder
- ½ cup Grated Coconut

For Batter
- 1 cup Urad Dal, soaked in water for 1 hour
- 1/3 cup Rice, soaked in water for 2 hours
- Pinch of Salt
- Water as required
- Oil for deep frying

Method:
1. Boil chana dal in a pressure cooker for 4-5 whistles till soft. Keep aside.
2. In a pan, add some water and bring to boil. Add jaggery, salt and mix well.
3. Once fully dissolved, add cooked chana dal and mash well.
4. When the mixture starts to thicken, add cardamom powder, coconut and ghee. Mix well.
5. Keep aside to cool.
6. In a mixer, combine rice, dal and salt. Grind using water till you get a smooth thick batter.
7. Shape the cooled mixture into uniform sized balls.
8. Meanwhile keep oil for frying.
9. Dip each ball in batter and deep fry in pre-heated oil till golden brown in colour. Drain on absorbent paper.
