Sam vada is an quintessential breakfast dish which is scrumptious, delicious and healthy.SAM VADAIngredients 1½ cups cooked rice1 cup yogurt ¼ small cabbage, grated and squeeze out excess water1½ tablespoons whole wheat flour (atta)1 tablespoon finger millet (bajra)2 tablespoons gram flour (besan)Salt to taste¼ teaspoon turmeric powder½ teaspoon red chilli powder1 green chilli, finely chopped1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leavesOil for drizzlingTomato ketchup for servingMethod1. Mix together rice and yogurt in a bowl. Refrigerate for 5-6 hours.2. Mix together yogurt-rice mixture, cabbage, wheat flour, finger millet, gram flour, salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder, green chilli and coriander leaves in a bowl.3. Heat a non-stick tawa. 4. To prepare one sam vada, dampen your palms in some water, take a small portion of yogurt-rice mixture and place on hot tawa. Again dampen your palms in some water and spread to make ½ cm thick disc. 5. Drizzle some oil in to of each disc and roast till golden brown and crisp from downside. Flip, again drizzle some oil and roast till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper. 6. Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
