Ribbon Pakoda (Rice & Gram Flour Farsan) || Diwali Recipes || Dakshin Curry | India Food Network

Ingredients:
Rice flour- 1 cup
Besan- 1/ 2 cup
Turmeric powder- a pinch
Red chilli powder-1 tsp
Salt- to taste
Hing powder/ Hing dissolved in water- a pinch
Ghee/ White Butter- 1 tbsp
Water- to make dough
Oil- for deep frying

Method Of Preparation

For making the dough

* Firstly, in a large mixing bowl take 1 cup rice flour and 1 cup besan.
* Also add 1 tsp chili powder, ΒΌ tsp turmeric, a pinch of hing and salt to taste.
* Combine all the dry ingredients well.
* Now pour ghee in the mixture and mix it well. Add water little by little and start to knead the dough.
* Knead the dough to smooth, non-sticky and soft dough.

For Frying the Ribbon Pakoda
* Furthermore, take ribbon pakoda mold (straight slit) and fix to the chakli maker.
* Now make a cylindrical shape out of dough and place the dough inside the maker.
* Also tighten the lid and heat the oil.
* Directly press the ribbon pakoda into hot oil moving hand in a circular motion.
* Flip the pakora and fry till they turn golden brown and crispy from both sides.
* Drain them to the paper towel to remove excess oil.
* Crispy ribbon pakoda / ribbon murukku is ready.
