Raw Jackfruit Biryani Recipe - kathal biryani | Vahchef - VahRehVah

JACKFRUIT BIRYANI
INGREDIENTS:
Jackfruit - 500 grams
Buttermilk - 500 ml
Yogurt - 1 cup
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
Cumin powder - ½ tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Biryani masala powder - 1 tsp
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
Whole garam masala - 2 tsp
Green chillies - 5 nos.
Brown onions - 1 tsp
Salt - As per taste
Basmati rice - 1 cup
Oil - As required
Onions - 2 nos.
Turmeric powder - ½ tsp
Mint leaves - 1 bunch
Coriander leaves - 1 bunch
Chickpeas (soaked) - 1 cup
Water - As required
Tomatoes - 2 nos.
DIRECTIONS:
Firstly, take jackfruit cut into pieces and soak it in the buttermilk.
Heat oil in a pan, add jackfruit pieces fry it for 3-4 minutes.
Take yogurt in a bowl, add red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, biryani masala powder, ginger garlic paste, whole garam masala, green chillies, brown onions, salt mix it and add fried jackfruit pieces, water cook it for few minutes.
Heat water in a pan, add salt, basmati rice mix it and cooked it for 70% using a lid.
Heat oil in a pan,add onions, turmeric powder, mint leaves, coriander leaves, salt, soaked chickpeas, water, tomatoes cook it for 15-20 minutes closed on a slow flame.
Then add boiled rice, saffron water, brown onions cook it for 4-5 minutes closed on a slow flame. Then switch off the flame.
