Ragi Rava Upma #MilletKhazana Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Ragi Rava is full of nutrients and highly beneficial for pregnant ladies and diabetic people. Dry roasted ragi rava is cooked with south Indian spices, peas, tomatoes, onion and carrot. You will love this healthy snack recipe. The ultra-healthy version of our regular upma!With the goodness of the superfood, ragi, here's an upma version which is ultra-healthy!

RAGI RAVA UPMA

Ingredients

1 cups ragi rava
2 tbsps oil
tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp split skinless black gram (dhuli urad dal)
8-10 curry leaves
2 green chillies, chopped
2 medium onions, chopped
1 medium tomato, chopped
Salt to taste
1 medium carrot, peeled and cut into cm pieces
cup green peas
tsp sugar
Scraped coconut for garnish
Coriander sprig for garnish

Method

1. Dry roast ragi rava in a nonstick pan on medium heat for 4-5 minutes.
2. Heat oil in a nonstick pan. Add mustard seeds and once they start to splutter, add urad dal. Saut till golden brown.
3. Add curry leaves, green chillies, onions and mix well. Saut till translucent.
4. Add tomato, salt and cook till tomatoes are pulpy.
5. Add carrot, green peas and mix well. Add cup water, cover and cook for 3-4 minutes on medium heat.
6. Add the roasted rava ad mix well. Add 3 cups hot water, sugar and mix.
7. Cover and cook on medium heat for 8-10 minutes.
8. Transfer into a serving bowl, sprinkle coconut, garnish with coriander sprig and serve hot.
