Prawn Pizza | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Pizza base topped with white sauce, pizza sauce and prawn mixture loaded with cheese and baked.

PRAWN PIZZA

Ingredients

1 cup medium prawns, peeled and deveined
Pizza dough as required
½ tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon butter
1 tablespoon chopped garlic
1 teaspoon red chilli flakes + for sprinkling
Salt to taste
Crushed black peppercorns to taste
1-2 fresh oregano sprigs
1-2 fresh thyme sprigs
Refined flour for dusting
3-4 tablespoons white sauce
2-3 tablespoons pizza sauce
Grated mozzarella cheese as required
Mixed dried herbs for sprinkling

Method

1. Preheat oven to 180° C.
2. Heat olive oil and butter in a non-stick pan. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. Add 1 teaspoon chilli flakes and mix well.
3. Add prawns, salt and crushed peppercorns, mix and cook for 1 minute. Add fresh oregano leaves and fresh thyme leaves, mix and cook till prawns are fully done.
4. Dust the worktop with some flour, place the dough, knock back to release excess air and roll out the dough into 1 inch thick disc.
5. Dust a baking tray with some flour, place the disc and dork using a fork.
6. Spread some white sauce, pizza sauce, some mozzarella cheese and cooked prawn mixture on the disc.
7. Sprinkle some salt, chilli flakes, crushed peppercorns and mixed dried herbs and spread some more mozzarella cheese on top. Again sprinkle some chilli flakes and crushed peppercorns.
8. Put the tray into the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes.
9. Cut into wedges and serve hot.
