Pongal (Traditional South Indian Rice) By Shweta | India Food Network

Ingredients:
¼ cup of moong dal (split green gram), soaked for 2-3 hours
½ cup of rice, soaked for 1-2 hours
2-3 red chillies
2-3 tbsp ghee
Salt to taste
½ an inch ginger, finely chopped
1 red chilli, finely chopped
½ tsp haldi powder (turmeric)
¼ tsp asafoetida
1 tsp cumin seeds, coarsely crushed
1 tsp black pepper, coarsely crushed
1 tsp urad dal (black gram)
1 tsp chana dal (split Bengal gram)
