Pan-Fried Tofu Cakes (豆腐饼) | The Chinese Cuisine

These savory tofu cakes have a crispy outer layer and are soft and flavorful on the inside!

INGREDIENTS:
- 200g firm tofu
- 2 stalks green onions
- 30g all purpose flour
- 10g corn starch
- 1/2 tsp (~2g) salt
- sichuan pepper powder
- cooking oil

DIRECTIONS:
1. chop the green onions (as shown)
2. add sichuan pepper powder and salt to the tofu, and mash
3. halfway through add in green onions and continue to mash
4. add in corn starch and flour
5. once you can shape the mixture, divide it into four equal sections
6. roll each section into a ball and then flatten into a patty
7. add cooking oil to a pan on low heat
8. cover your spatula with an even layer of oil as well so it doesn't stick to the patties
9. add each patty into the pan and flatten with your spatula
10. cook until both sides are golden brown
11. serve and enjoy!
