Pan Fried Fish Cakes | Fish Cutlet | Western Style Fish Cakes | Kashmiri Tadka Twist

Fish Cake or Fish Cutlet is a culinary dish consisting of filleted fish or other seafood minced or ground, mixed with a starchy food, and fried. Fish cakes serve as a quick & easy appetizer or main course made from cod or any white-fleshed fish and served with homemade tartar sauce. This easy fish cake recipe is quick & child-friendly. Ingredients:

1. Wild Cod Fish - 500 gm (You can use any white fleshed fish)
Note: (If you are using fresh fish, remove all bones after you boil the fish)
2. Salt - 1 tbsp
3. Black Pepper Powder - 1 tsp
4 Dried Thyme - 1 tsp
5. Dried Basil leaves - 1 tsp
6. Onion Powder - 1 tbsp
7. Garlic Powder - 1 tbsp
8. Egg - 1
9. Potato - 1 large
10. Oil for frying - 5-6 tbsp

Method:

1. Boil fish in water for 5 - 7 mins - Note: (If you are using fresh fish, remove all bones after you boil the fish)
2. Drain all the water and keep aside
2. Boil the potato and mash it fine
3. Mix Fish and mashed potato well
4. Add, salt , pepper, basil, thyme , onion powder and garlic powder and mix well
5. Make round shaped fish cakes
6. Coat with breadcrumbs and refrigerate for about 30 mins
7. Shallow fry until golden brown.

Fish Cakes are Ready!
