Ottoman Chicken With Dried Fruits & Almonds Mahmudiyye

Mahmudiye with honey is one of the chicken dishes that reflects the classic style of Ottoman cuisine with its sweet, sour and spicy taste.
It was among the dishes served to the guests in the feast of ehzade Cihangir and Beyazd in 1539 in the Palace.

Ingredients to make Mahmudiyye (3-4 servings)
Meat of half of the boiled chicken or 1 chicken breast and one chicken thigh
2 tbsp butter or 1 tbsp butter and 3-4 tbsp olive oil (In original it has butter only)
1 onion
3 tbsp almonds
3 tbsp raisins
5-6 dried apricots
1/2 tsp or to taste each salt, ground black pepper and ground cinnamon
1 to 2 tbsp honey
juice of 1/2 to 1 lemon (depend on your taste)
