Orange Caramel Custard is a creamy delight, with a splash of sunshiny citrus flavor, is easy-to-make and is popular all over India.

ORANGE CARAMEL CUSTARD

Ingredients

1 tbsp orange marmalade
2 orange, peeled and segments separated
2 cups orange juice, cooked till thick
4 eggs
4 tbsps sugar
½ cup cream
2 cups warm milk
For caramel
½ cup sugar

Method

1. Preheat oven to 180° C.
2. Cook ½ cup sugar with 2 tbsps water in a non-stick pan till it caramelizes.
3. Put orange marmalade into a blender jar. Add half the orange segments and blend.
4. Break eggs into a bowl and whisk. Add sugar and continue to whisk. Add cream and warm milk and whisk.
5. Add orange marmalade-orange segments mixture, thickened orange juice and mix well.
6. Place ramekin moulds in a deep baking dish half filled with water.
7. Pour the caramel equally into each mould. Place a few orange segments in each mould.
8. Pour the egg-milk mixture into the moulds till almost full and cook in the preheated oven for 40 minutes.
9. Take them out of the oven, cool and chill in the refrigerator before serving.
