Nilanga Rice Recipe Ingredients - निलंगा राईस रेसिपी सामग्री :

1½ cup Rice
¼ cup Red Lentil
Water (for washing)
3 tbsp Oil
½ tsp Cumin Seeds
½ Asafoetida
3 Green Chillies (chopped)
2 Onions (finely chopped)
1½ tsp Ginger Garlic paste
¼ tsp Turmeric Powder
1½ tbsp Coriander Seed Powder
2 Tomatoes (finely chopped)
½ cup Fenugreek Leaves
¼ cup Peanuts
3 tbsp Curds
2 Potatoes (diced)
Salt (as per taste)
3 cups Hot Water
¼ cup Dried Fenugreek Leaves
Coriander Leaves (for garnish)
Onion (for garnish)
Lemon wedges (for garnish)

Nilanga is a town with a municipal council in Latur District in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is also the headquarters for Nilanga Taluka. The city being small is the Taluka Headquarter.

Nilanga is located on the border with Andra Pradesh, it was under the Nizam regime until the Nizam territory merged with India. Nizam of Hyderabad had appointed vatandars under the landlord system and had appointed vatandars one of essentially managing all administrative work and tax collection. The Vatandars or essentially landlords were extremely rich people who had the authority to manage the areas and ensure well being. Until Nizam merged this territory in India.
