MIRIYALA PULIHORA - Pepper Puliyodharai | Vahchef - VahRehVah

Pepper Puliyodharai is a very traditional and authentic dish from the south Indian region, the immense flavour of pepper will change the normal pulihora into an extraordinary pulihora.

Ingredients used in Peppercorns Puliyodharai
• Peppercorns - 1/4 cup.
• Oil - 2 teaspoons.
• Peanuts - 1/4 cup.
• Chana dal - 1 teaspoon.
• Urad dal - 1 teaspoon.
• Mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoon.
• Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon.
• Ginger(chopped) - 1/2 teaspoon.
• Curry leaves - 1 spring.
• Tamarind juice - 100 ml.
• Salt - to taste.
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon.
• Fenugreek powder - 1/4 teaspoon.
• Hing - pinch.
• Cooked rice - 1 cup.

Method:
1. First, soak the peppercorns for 1 hour, later crush them in a motor pestle and keep aside.
2. Now heat oil in a pan add peanuts, chana dal, urad dal and fry till they get a nice colour and keep aside.
3. In the same oil add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, ginger, curry leaves, tamarind juice, salt and cook for 2-3 minutes.
4. Now add crushed peppercorn mix well and cook for another two minutes and switch off the flame.
5. Then add turmeric powder, fenugreek seeds powder, hing, cooked rice, fried peanuts, dals and mixed well.
6. Finally, serve after letting it sit for 15-20 minutes.
