Minced Meat Niang Tofu (酿豆腐) + BONUS | The Chinese Cuisine

Niang tofu is a light dish that features minced pork stuffed in tofu. It is also steamed, so this makes for something protein-rich, hearty, and healthy!

INGREDIENTS:
1. 1/2 block of firm tofu
2. 4 oz. ground pork/minced meat (shrimp, fish, etc.)
3. cooking wine
4. light soy sauce
5. salt
6. sugar
7. chopped scallions
8. sesame oil
9. sweet peppers (optional)

DIRECTIONS:
1. mix the meat with cooking wine, soy sauce, and sugar
2. chopped up some scallions, and add them to the meat mixture, leaving a bit for garnish
3. take half a block of tofu and cut into equal-sized cubes
4. dig a hole in each of the individual cubes
5. add the tofu that was just dug out into the meat mixture.
6. heat some water to a boil, and then steam for ten minutes
7. if there is leftover meat, stuff it in some peppers and bake at 400 F for ten minutes.
8. drizzle with sesame oil!
