Mawa Kaju Matar | Simple Vegetarian Khana With Chef Saurabh | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

MAWA KAJU MATAR

Ingredients

⅔ cup mawa /khoya, crumbled
12 cashewnuts, ground
2¾ cups green peas, shelled
2 tablespoons oil
½ teaspoon red chilli powder
2 teaspoons coriander powder
¾ teaspoon fennel (saunf) powder
½ teaspoon garam masala powder
3 medium tomatoes, chopped
Salt to taste
2 green chillies, chopped
2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves

Method

1. Heat oil in a heavy bottomed pan. Add mawa and sauté on low heat, stirring continuously, till it changes colour.
2. Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, fennel powder, garam masala powder and mix well. Add tomatoes and salt and cook till tomatoes soften. Add cashewnut paste and continue to sauté for a minute.
3. Add green peas and green chillies. Add one cup of water and cook till oil separates.
4. Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves.
