Masala khichdi By Asha Khatau | India Food Network

Masala Khichdi is a healthy spiced variation of simple rice khichdi. This ultimate comfort food recipe of Indian cuisine. Can be easily prepared at home and is best served with curd, papad and pickle.


Ingredients

¾ cup of rice washed and soaked
¼ cup of moong dal (yellow split gram) washed and soaked
1 cup of mixed boiled vegetables
3-4 tomatoes boiled, liquidized and sieved

For tempering
1 tbsp of ghee (clarified butter)
¼ tsp of haldi powder (turmeric powder)
½ tsp of chilli powder
½ tsp of garam masala
½ tsp of coriander and cumin powder
Salt to taste
1 tsp of ginger chilli paste
Chopped coriander for garnishing
