So grab your ingredients, hit play, and let's get cooking!Ingredients:1 whole - or whatever part of a head of cabbage you have leftOil for fryingSalt and pepper to taste5 mL (1 tsp) cumin seedsPinch hot pepper flakes45 mL (3 Tbsp) tomato paste500 mL (2 cups) chicken or vegetable broth5 mL (1 tsp) dry mustardMethod:Preheat oven to 160C (320F.)Cut cabbage into wedges through the rood end, and season with salt and pepper.Heat oil in heavy pan, and fry wedges just until they are starting to brown.Remove to a plate, adjust oil and toast cumin and hot pepper flakes for a few seconds.Add tomato paste to pan and fry just until sugars start to caramelise.Stir in broth and dry mustard, then add cabbage back to pan.Cover and place in the oven to braise for 3-4 hours.We no longer do sponsorships or paid promotions of any kind; we tried it a couple of times but it never felt right.
