In this video recipe we are making Kashmiri Chole or chana masala and we've used homemade chole masala powder to infuse a real spicy tadka into the gravy masala. The main ingredient is a variety of chickpea called chana or kala chana ('black chana'). Chana Masala or channay or Chole is a dish originating from the Indian subcontinent and is a comfort food for people living in the Northern part of India. However chana masala has gained a lot of popularity in recent times in the West as well and is found on menu in all desi restaurants and is enjoyed by the non-desi people as well due to its mildness.
