INSANE Rural China Food Tour Part 2: DESSERTS! | 夏波波Brian

Any sweet teeth out there?! This is your one! QingYan Town has a lot of delicious sweets to offer:

1. Sugar Sesame Bites: Something I failed to explain in the video is that the consistency is somewhere inbetween candy and syrup, it doesnt drip, but its really soft!, sort of like gummy bears! but all natural. They use rose water syrup for this one and it gets coated with bicolor sesame seeds!

2. Sticky Grain Cake: Easy to run out of words when it comes to describing chinese food in english! This one is like sticky rice ZongZi but made with millet. They add brown sugar in the cooking process which makes it more sticky, brown colored and sweet!! Not recommended as a pre-date snack!

3.Purple Hot Dough Mixture Of Ingredients That Looks Like Porridge: As I was saying, it is very hard to describe in english! It's literally the mixture of all those ingredients in a hot porridge like form. The flavours work really well together without overpowering each other! Very nutritious breakfast like meal!

4. Sichuan Peppercorn Sesame Cake: Easy! this is a very rich biscuit, very much like moon cake dough or western butter biscuits, filled with sichuan peppercorns and crystalised sugar. It sounds terrible, but it actually works very well together!! The added sesame seeds on the outside make the biscuit even better!

5. QingMing Cake: Made out of QingMing Flower infused sticky rice, filled with rose brown sugar syrup and finally pan roasted to order! This little bad boys are definitely my favourite dessert of the day!! Can't find them anywhere else! Really must eat!

As you can see locals enjoy very sweet flavours and sticky textures and I did too! When in Rome...
Thank you very much for watching!
