How To Make Date & Tamarind Chutney | Khajur Imli Ki Chatni For Chaat Recipe by Ruchi Bharani | Rajshri Food

Date And Tamarind Chutney is used as a basic recipe in many chaat dishes. Check out chef Ruchi Bharani's take on this popular chutney recipe.

Ingredients:

400 gm. red dates
100 gm. jaggery
50 gm. tamarind
1/4 tsp. asafoetida (heeng)
2 tsp. red chilli powder
2 tsp. coriander cumin seed powder
salt to taste
water

Method:

- Add the dates to a round bottom pan. Add 2 cups of water. Stir well. Let it come to a boil.
- Add jaggery, salt, coriander cumin seed powder, red chilli powder and asafoetida. Stir and let it simmer on a slow flame for 25-30 min till the dates become absolutely soft.
- Add tamarind and let it cook for 5 min.
- Let it cool down completely.
- Add it to a grinder and churn well into a smooth paste.
